Bing Translator Widget – a much cooler alternative to Google Translate Widget
The Bing Translator Widget [ http://www.microsofttranslator.com/Widget/ ] has been around since March 2K9. I’m using the bloody thing on this blog because it’s very good for low JS and AS packed web sites / blogs (without iframes) and it just works.
What do I love about the Bing Translator Widget?
- Instant Translate
AJAX FTW! There is no more page refresh required when the page gets translated. It’s done instantly. - Straight Forward
It’s very straight forward to design the widget (choose colours, default languages, size) and to implement it onto a web site. Using the widget is also very easy.

- Progressive Rendering with Progress Indicator
It’s understandable that the translation is progressive since there is no refresh. The cooles thing about this is the progress indicator on the toolbar. - It’s FREE!
The Bing Translator Widget currently features 15 languages (incl. default.)

As long as French, German and Flemish (Dutch) are listed, I’m OK with 15. The number of supported languages will surely increase in time.
Looking for more in-depth integration of Bing Translator? Do check out the MS. Translator AJAX API -

There are many who believe that there is a lack of software for Microsoft Windows Mobile. This is actually a lie. The reason for which many believe so is that the Microsoft Windows Mobile Catalog [ http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/catalog/cataloghome.aspx ] is incomplete. There are many apps which are not listed. Note: fadil.fr does not condone piracy. So, [...]

The basic HTML Twitter widget is no longer featured on twitter.com/widgets

Stacy just told me that Twitter has removed the basic HTML widget from its widgets page. Instead, there is another styled and embeddable one. It’s not that bad. Anyway, if you crave for the previous widget, here it is the embeddable piece of codes. Replace “yourusername” by your Twitter username. <div id="twitter_div"> <ul id="twitter_update_list"></ul> <a [...]

Many people often wonder when the new version of Microsoft Windows, 7, will be released. I don’t know the date, BTW. I only know it’s in October. Anyway, if you wish to add a custom Silverlight widget of the countdown to the release of Microsoft Windows 7, here is the piece of code: <iframe src=”http://silverlight.services.live.com/invoke/75985/NewWin/iframe.html” [...]

I’ve been checking out the many sites out there lately and I noticed that many bloggers have opted for Meebo as chat wigdget. Since I did not have a Meebo account and did not want to go through the pain of registration, I binged and googled for a WLM widget. I found that you can [...]
